    Hi,

I've carefully followed the instructions on how to create affiliate links (super easy process) but my affiliate link redirects back to my website and not the affiliate site like I want it to.

I have no clue what I'm doing wrong. Any ideas?

    Regards,

    Mark

Most likely you are missing the "http" keyword from the value that you specified in the "Destination URL" field of that link. A properly formatted URL should always have the "http" keyword. What value do you have in that field?

    Hi Key Master,

Wow, thanks for the fast response.

    I figured the problem out.

Here is how the non-working Alias link was formatted:

    http://mywebsite.com/link/affiliate-product-name

As soon as I removed the dashes between the end words the link worked.

The working Alias link looks like this...

    http://mywebsite.com/link/affiliateproductname

I probably just overlooked or disrememberafied how to properly format a link in the explanation portion when setting up and using the Affiliate Link Manager.

Question: Is it possible to change the coding for this plugin to allow for dashes between words? It's kinda nice for visitors who take a peek at the link before clicking on it.

    Regards,

Yes, you can have dash character as your alias link word, it will just convert them (dash) into underscore. For example, the following:

    http://mywebsite.com/link/affiliate-product-name

will look like the following which should still be readable:

    http://mywebsite.com/link/affiliate_product_name

    Hi Again,

    Thanks for your help.

Here's the puzzling problem I run into.

When I initially requested help about my links redirecting back to my site instead of to the affiliate site it was because I had them formatted with dashes as seen below:

    http://mywebsite.com/link/affiliate-product-name

It was when I removed the dashes that the links started working correctly.

I just tried applying the dashes again to my link and I get the same negative result, redirection back to my site.

It's not a big deal or anything, I can live without the dashes. I was just curious as to why the dashes approach wasn't working in my situation.

    Regards,

    Mark
