Turned out that PDF file was large (15MB) and the server was a bit slow so it was taking time to stamp every page of the file. In the meantime the server killed the script because it crossed the script execution timeout threshold. Increasing the PHP timeout value in the php.ini file to two minutes (120 seconds) helped.

I get the same error and my file size is only 127kb plus I used print to adobe pdf to convert my Microsoft Word Document to PDF. Yes I have curl library installed plus I am using php 5.2.9 I also went through the checklist and make sure I did everything it asked and it is still not working.
