Hi there,
Ive been through the forum and cant find anything on this, but i was wondering if theres any thoughts on adding private messaging to the eMember plugin?

It would be great if members could have the option to contact other members privately, and make things a little more social.

Or what about a complete new plugin for private messaging and chat? something similar to facebook that would integrate with your other plugins etc? I think this would be a great idea, specially for those who dont want to use a bulletin board for socializing.

If this was to happen id be willing to pay for it, as i cant fault your current plugins and support so far.

We do have plans to create an addon for instant messaging between WordPress users (there will be option to integrate it with eMember). Have you looked at BuddyPress? I personally didn't use it but I know that BuddyPress is good for social networking type stuff.

I have tested out buddypress however i didnt get on with it very well, it caused too many problens with my theme and certain plugins i was using so i gave up on that.

And i didnt want to create a big social network, just a simple messaging service from profile to profile, to give members some form of contact with each other, a live chat option would just be an extra bonus i guess, but not required.

But thanks for the info, i will be waiting to see what you come up with and make sure im first in line to purchase your up and coming addon.
