Hi,
There is a feature which awards a one time commission payment for subscription products - is this what you are after?If so then to activate this you go to WP eStore->Settings->Addon Settings->WP Affiliate Platform Specific Settings section and check the One Time Commission for Subscription Payment option.

peter, thanks for the reply...yes... i just want to pay a flat commission for referring the first purchase only regardless if the item is subscription-based or one time. i don't want to pay continuous commissions for existing customers even if they clicked on an affiliate link. basically i wan to pay for new customers only.
sorry i should have mentioned that i don't use the wp estore plugin. i don't mind purchasing plugin for that feature only, but rather do without another plugin.

The affiliate platform itself doesn't have a feature like this. Affiliates expect to get commissions from the client that they send your way (its how the affiliate marketing works by default). You could use a very small number (example: 1 day) for your "Cookie Lifetime" value. This will make it so the affiliate commission will only be given if the customer was referred within the same day. If that same customer buys something the 2nd day it won't generate any commission.
