I have 4 variations for the same digital product. When I test my download links it seems to work on some but not all of them... seems to be unable to download the .mpg video files (links work great with the mp4 files). I host on Amazon S3. All I get is a big quick time symbol in my browser when I click the download link for mpg files. Sometimes if I right click on the link it downloads. (Lately when I right click I get the option to download the "download.php" file). Any suggestions?

PS. ALL LINKS WORK GREAT WHEN THEY ARE NOT USED IN THE "Digital Product Variation" filed.

Looks like the browser is trying to play the file (if the browser is capable of playing a file then it tries to play it first... you can change this in your browser's preference settings). Simply place the .mpg file inside a zip folder and use that as the downloadable file (it is always a good practice to serve a zip file as a downloadable file (your users will be able to unzip it and use the file after they download it).

I have all my files on Amazon.

How does one change the system preferences for IE, as some of my clients report IE playing the my mp3 files, rather than downloading them. I have tried zipping files before! if I do that then clients dont know how to unzip, creates a whole new support issue.

With a tutorial on how to change there system preferences in IE might be better.

Dealing with a whole lot of new people who use IE!

Google search should help... I still think that delivering it as a zip file and then having a tutorial on how to unzip it would be easier. It is easy to tell someone how to unzip a file rather than showing them how to change the IE preference.

This is really strange, as I have been selling mp3s for 2 years with your store and never had an issue since the last couple of new versions of IE.

The newer versions of IE automatically start to play media files (if it can recognize it) which is probably the reason why you didn't see this before.
