I uploaded a newer update of WPEstore the other day. Today, I had 5 sales, of which 2 customers (so far!) told me that all of the files from the encrypted links are returning a 0KB file. Ugh!

I never had this problem before the update. They're telling me it's happening in Firefox and Explorer.

I came here and found this thread:

    http://www.tipsandtricks-hq.com/forum/topic/downloaded-file-size-is-0-zero-byte

I downloaded and unzipped the real urls to these files and they all downloaded and unzipped just fine. I do not have any spaces at all in the file names of any of these files.

I'm now just waiting for the other customers to either think I scammed them with a blank zip file or email me saying there was nothing in them.

    How does this get fixed?

    Thank you.

This first thing you can do is check to make sure that the download validation system is working after an update. Please manually create an encrypted link for the product in question from the "Admin Functions" menu and test the download yourself. Does it download the file fine or do you get a 0kb download?

Do you have the .htaccess and .htpassword file in the "downloads" directory? Given that you kept your files there if not please ignore this.

Yes, the .htaccess and .htpassword files are in the downloads directory.

I just manually generated an email with links and sent it to myself via the Admin Functions. I got the email, clicked on the links to download the files (in this particular product, there are 3 zips). Each zip file says 0 bytes.

    Now what?

Can you please remove the .htaccess and .htpassword files and try the download again?

    That didn't work, either.

I'd like to also request you access my site. I have days, weeks, months of development into my site, to find out the encryption feature doesn't work properly (?!)

Why don't you use the amazon S3 storage for your large files and keep the PDF files on your server. Using amazon S3 doesn't mean you have to ship all of your products to S3.

How big is your PDF file?
