    Hi there,

    How to you set the number of 'posts' displayed on the Infinity Theme home page?

    I've gone into settings, 'size of the post box', and tried adjusting various things, but my home page still continues to display too many posts i.e. it's now getting really long and takes a long time to display when first opening.

    Many thanks in advance.

    Adrian.

    You can specify the number of posts that gets shown on your blog page from the "Reading" settings of WordPress. Look for the "Blog pages show at most" field under:

    Settings -> Reading

    Hi, as mentioned, I've already done this. Settings, Reading, Blog Pages Show at Most.

    I adjust it to 6, then save, then log off and check the site - it still shows all of them...

    Any other ideas?

    Hi Ivy,

    In your Infinity Remix Demo you have a Feature Content box at the beginning which I've already set-up with amin's help. Hoever beneath that box you have different posts, "infinity Remix Sample Post with Photos", "Infinity Remix with Sample NexGen Gallery", "Infinity Remix Sample Post with Embeded Video" etc...

    This posts appear in the home page and they show an excerpt and a thumbnail photo on the top-right of each excerpt.

    Can you please tell me how you did that? I've already was able to show a number of posts in the home page but the post appears complete, so it makes the home page very long.

    Thanks!

    Under the custom field of your post, there are two text fields- Custom name and Custom value. In the Custom name field enter 'thumbnail' and in the Custom value field enter the URL of your thumbnail photo. The URL will have to be relative in respect to 'wp-content'. So the URL should be something like the following-

    wp-content/uploads/2010/image.jpg

    Also, don't forget to add "more" tags in your article so you don't see the full article on the home page.

    I am having a similar problem as above. I have created a post and made it sticky before publishing. I went into the readings settings of wordpress and ticked the box to show only 1 post. Yet its showing several posts after saving the settings. Any idea how I can get only my sticky post to show? Thanks -Robert

    I am not sure what you mean by "Making a post sticky in WordPress". I am not aware of sticky post option in WordPress. To show only one blog post on your home page you simply set the "Blog pages show at most" field's value to 1. Or make a WordPress page with the content of this post that you want to show on your homepage then go to the "Readings" settings and choose "A static page" option for the "Front page displays" field. Then you will be able to select the page that you want to show on your homepage so select the page you want.
