Is there a way to limit the quantity that a customer can put in their cart?
I'm selling a digital download (music) where a customer would never order more than 1 of a particular product. I'm trying to prevent them from inadvertently ordering more than 1.

Yep, you can do this by specifying an "Available Quantity" amount in the "Stock control" section of the product.

Seems counter intuitive. When one person buys this product, does that decrement the stock, meaning that nobody can by it afterward? If so, it's not great for digital products, and if it doesn't, then it doesn't work for physical products where you would run out.

    Am I missing something?

And how can I remove the "Available quantity" from the fancy description if I use this option?

When someone makes a purchase it decrements the "Available Quantity" value. The option is there for people who need to use it. For example, you can use it to sell only 300 copies of a secret guide.

If you don't want to use an option simply leave it empty. Also leaving that field empty will make it so the "Available Quantity" will not be displayed in the "Fancy" display option.
