If someone who has an existing paypal account signs up for a subscriptions(using WP eStore and WP eMember) everything works great. The purchaser automatically receives their registration email after the purchase is complete. BUT for those who do not have a Paypal account and go through the process of setting one up the registration email from eStore does not show up. How can I fix this problem? I am aware that with subscriptions the purchaser must have a paypal account. I know I can generate a registration link for them, but that requires them emailing me, which adds really a lot of steps. Any Suggestions?

"I am aware that with subscriptions the purchaser must have a paypal account" - I don't think this is true anymore. PayPal allows customers to subscribe just using a credit card (without having to have a PayPal account.. you might need to have a business account for this though). Anyway, this shouldn't matter as the registration email gets sent the email address the customer enters on PayPal while filling out the payment form (there is an email address field).

If you run a test transaction with the debug option enabled then it will be easy to see what is going wrong. This post will explain what to do:

After the test run share the content of the "subscription_handle_debug" file.

When I say subscription, I mean reoccurring payment. Those need Paypal right?
Here is the report from subscription_handle_debug. Please let me know how to fix the problem. This only happens whens someone sets up a new paypal account. Thanks!

I haven't checked this but I have heard that PayPal added a feature that enables you to use subscription (recurring payments) without the customer having to have a PayPal account. I am pretty sure this is an addon that you enable from your PayPal profile. Anyway, if you have this option enabled then when the customer lands on PayPal for a subscription payment PayPal shows the credit card option too.

The debug shows that the account signup went smoothly. The only thing that failed is the email. Do you have the "Use WordPress Mailing System" field checked in eStore's settings menu? If you don't have it checked then please check that option and try again.

Thank you! Huge help on both parts. For anyone else, the paypal feature is in Profile/More Options/My selling tools/My Automated payments. If you click Update my Automated payments, you will see the option on the left to enroll in "Enhanced Reoccurring Payments". We tested and it works.

As for email, I did not have the option selected so I should be good now. Thanks for the help!
