    Hello,

I tested my store, everything worked except no download was sent. I received payment OK.

I'm a little unclear on setting up the download in the password protected directory. In the instructions it said to place the URL address in the browser to see if it came up which it did, when not in the protected directory, but doesn't while in the protected directory.

Is there something extra I need to do here? What should I expect when I paste the URL in the browser? I get the 404 error page. I imagine that this is why no download was sent, but I'm not sure.

    Thanks,

When the file is kept in the "downloads" directory it can give you a 404 on some servers due to the protection that is put in that directory but the customer will be able to download it when they click on the link that is sent out to them after the purchase.

I don't think this is your issue though because you don't even seem to get the post payment email with the download link in it.

Do you get a "Payment Verification Failed" email from the plugin?

Did you test it in "Debug Mode" explained here?

The payment was accepted and received (confirmation email). The customer did not receive an email with download link.

I will have to try the debug option, once I set up a sandbox acct.

    Thanks

Well, I was successful in setting up the sandbox, and everything worked. I got the email and the download link. However, the download link was wrong. I had to use the "generate encrypted link" feature in the plugin, replace the url in the product details, then it worked fine and I was able to download the product.

I don't know why the first test did not send an email, but sometimes they do get stuck in cyber space for a while. I guess we'll see if it ever comes through.

Where do I find the file that the debug feature generates?

    Thanks,

The file is stored in the plugin directory "wp-cart-for-digital-products". Look for that file (the name should be on the document I pointed you to this file earlier) in that directory.

Well, when I set things back up for real payments (not sandbox), once again, no delivery. In reading the error log it looks like it is trying to use what was my primary paypal email address, which was different than the payment email address setup in eStore, and the log says "failure invalid seller", Though I do receive payment, it just does not deliver the product.

I have set the payment email address as primary in paypal now. Do you think this was the problem? I don't really want to go live until I know it's working.

As I said before, when using sandbox, and using 2 fake accts. it worked fine. I received payment and received the product on the other end.

Do you have the "Use Strict PayPal Email Address Checking" checkbox checked?

If you do using Email alias for you PayPal account will also flag a verification failure.

Uncheck that if you want to use Email Alias.

That solved that problem! But, now when I click on the download link, it says file can't be found.

I removed the htaccess, htpasswd, and the index file temporarily and pasted the url in the browser, then I could download it.

So, evidently I'm missing something here. Do I need to set the password somewhere? Or do you have any other ideas.
