Is there a way to prevent buyers first register as an affiliate and then use the id to get a disguised discount?
Prevent commission on their own purchases?

One way to do this is to match the "Buyer's Email Address" with the associated affiliate's email address and discard if they match.
I personally don't mind if they buy with their own affiliate link because I set a minimum payout limit which makes it so they have to refer a few sales before they get the commission paid out.
This makes the life of the developers heaps easier as they are probably buying the plugin again again for their clients and can get a bit of commission in the process (technically they are referring the sale).
