I would have asked this in my previous post, but it's a different topic so I thought it should be in it's own post.
I thought I read somewhere that cookies are stored for 21 days unless the computer user clears them (correct me if I'm wrong, I can't find where I thought I read that). Our client has a question about this:
If a person clicks an affiliate link and then makes a purchase/signs up/whatever, then comes back a month/6 months/1 year later without clicking that link or any other affiliate link, who (if anyone) gets credit for the commission? Is there a way to default the commission to the original affiliate referrer if no other links are clicked after the cookie is expired?
Thanks!
