We are using the the WP Affiliate Platform (version 4.7.4) with Paypal integration on our website: keikotheuntoldstory.com. We are not using the WP eStore. Option 1 was used to create the paypal button and it is set to auto return to the store page, which is: keikotheuntoldstory.com/store/.

When making a purchase from all affiliate sites, click throughs are detected and recorded, but sales and commissions are not. I have tried to set up a debug log, but can't find it on our site. Is it only created when using the WP eStore?

All affiliates were set up manually through our Admin account with the correct commission amount. When the affiliate platform was initially set up it worked, but now doesn't.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks.

Have you changed anything in your PayPal profile before it stopped working?
Did you upgrade the plugin recently?
Is the auto return from PayPal working correctly after a sale?

Today our programmer deactivated the affiliate platform and reinstalled it with the original file. Nothing was done with the Paypal account. Is there a later version we should install? Sales data was not recorded with several test purchases made by someone else in our group.

However, when I made a purchase I noticed I was redirected first to a Paypal thank you page, then to a page on our site. This purchase was recorded. I was not aware the Paypal account had been set up this way. I read several posts on the forum that sales data is not recorded until redirection to the website occurs. If this is the case my guess is that when earlier test purchases were made our testers did not allow for the redirection from the Paypal thank you page to our site to occur, thus no sales data was recorded. To test this theory we are going to remove the Paypal thank you page and have the redirection go a thank you page on our site. Do you think was the cause of our problem?

If so, do you know whether it is possible to have Paypal redirect a purchaser from our webpage back to our webpage as contemplated but redirect purchasers from our other website to a paypal thank you page?

Is there a a debug log or debug program just for use with the affiliate platform in case we need it?

BTW, we noticed your click through to our site.

Thanks again for your help with this.

The most obvious cause for this would be that the tester did not fully complete the purchase cycle (which is to redirect back to the "Thank You" page on your site after the payment.. this is when the commission is tracked as the plugin can be sure of the purchase at this stage). So I would recommend you test the scenario out yourself and if there any confusion you can always add instruction on your site to guide a potential buyer as to what they should do when they purchase something.

Alternatively, if you want to track the commission when the customer hits the "Pay Now" button on PayPal you can follow the 2nd integration option explained here:

    http://www.tipsandtricks-hq.com/wordpress-affiliate/plain-paypal-button-and-affiliate-plugin-integration-168

This option requires a bit of advanced understanding but gives you more control and robustness.

We put integrated option 2. It is recording the sale, but not the affiliate id or commission amount.

    <input type="hidden" name="custom" value="<?php echo $_COOKIE['ap_id']; ?>">

I inserted the above coding on our store page with the two paypal buttons.

    Again, any help is appreciated.

Chances are that the page where you inserted that following line isn't running PHP so the cookie value is not getting added to the custom field. Read the section labeled "Important Note" and you will get the full details.

If you think that you did that already then post a link to the page where you have the payment button and I will check it out.

It appears that the PHP plugin was not installed. I was unable to complete the installation due to the web site's server going down. I will complete it later. Is it ok to leave the Paypal 3rd Party Cart Integration enabled, or does this need to be disabled. We use the Paypal account with another site.

Just finished the PHP plugin installation and all seems to work. Again, should we leave the Paypal 3rd Party Cart Integration enabled or disabled. We use this paypal account with another site.

Many Thanks for your help with this!

You can uncheck the "3rd Party Cart Integration" checkbox as this method of integration does not require it.

I've installed wp affiliate platform on my website http://NewPLR4You.com and while it is tracking clicks, it is not tracking sales and commissions. Before I ran the last test sale, I checked the debug option, but where do I find the file?

I'm using PayPal Integration Option 1. For my test, I came in under my test affiliate's Id, selected my test product, made the purchase through PayPal and received the download page and made the download. So that part is working great. I'm also using DLGuard, and I know the download process is working, but do you think it could be something in the redirection that is causing the issue?

When I go to the stats page, it is showing the clicks, but no sales or commission data. What triggers the generation of that data? Any ideas what I should do next.

I'm not new to Wordpress, but I am when it comes to setting up an affiliate site. Can you tell me what other information you need to help me out? Also where is the debug file stored?
