    Hi

I have V5.3.3, and have just seen that the latest version is 6.0.8.

My store seems to work fine, but should I be uprading it anyway? I cannot find a changelog past V5 so cannot see if there are any cool new features added since then.

If you are in a production mode, and nothing is broken; there's no reason to upgrade.

However, if you are looking for more "awesomeness," then checkout these features that have been added in the last year...

Thanks for the replies. I have upgraded and now have issues.

    My main stoe page is:

    http://6sided.net/products-2/

    1. The cart now shows as empty on the main store page, even when I have added a product and clicked "continue shopping" in the cart.

    2. If I delete an item from the cart, and then add another, the original item is still there. I can delete an item several times and yet it still appears.

If I log into wordpress, the cart appears on the main shopping URL and things get deleted, so it appears to perhaps be a caching issue, although the cache program worked before the upgrade. And I dont understand why the cache would show a cart widget on all pages apart from the main store URL? I am using quick cache.

    Thanks

    Jason

If you deactivate the quick cache plugin, do the problems go away?

    Hi

Yes the problems with the cart stop on deactivating quick cache. In quick cache I can "enter Don't Cache These URI Patterns" such as wp-login for example. What could I enter to stop it caching the store pages?

    Thanks

PS - I upgraded because I wanted to use the latest products shortcode, but its not in the shortcode pdf, nor can I find it searching your site, or via google. What is the shortcode please?

Quick cache doesn't have a feature that allows you to manipulate the caching based on cookie value (the other caching plugins offer this option). So in your case the following might be the best option:

    1. Create a separate checkout page (you can call it "Checkout")
    2. Place the shopping cart shortcode on this page (take note of the URL of this page). For this example lets assume the URL of this page is http://6sided.net/checkout/
    3. Now go to the quick cache settings menu and append the following line to the "No-Cache URI Patterns" field.

    checkout

    4. You don't need the shopping cart on the sidebar anymore so remove that and maybe just place a link to the checkout page saying something like "View the shopping cart".

This one is optional but you can also go to the eStore settings menu and check the "Automatic redirection to checkout page" settings option (this will send the user to the checkout page when they add an item to the cart).

Thanks guys, that seems to work. Odd that the widget worked with quick cache until I upgraded though.

Could I ask about the PS from my last post:

You need to add the "extra shortcodes" plugin...
