I have seen posts about using a squeeze page to allow a customer or visitor to my website to get a free download of a pdf or mp3. I also use mailchimp. How can I integrate the squeeze page and my mailchimp newsletter sign-up so the form is adding them to mailchimp and they still get their free download. Right now I use a mailchimp widget on my WP site and the website visitor gets directed to a download area that is not encrypted or secure and though the stuff is free, I do want to capture an optin to my mailing list in exchange for the free stuff. I don't want the link passed around or posted.
Thoughts on this?

You just follow the MailChimp integration instructions from here:

Once you integrate mailchimp it's just a matter of creating a product with your free content as the download and using a squeeze page to deliver it. This page tells you how to use a squeeze page to do what you are after (use the AJAX version of the squeeze page):
The squeeze page integration for mailchimp was added recently so make sure you are using a more recent version (v3.4.6+) of the eStore plugin. This link will help you with that:

I am having issues with MailChimp integration. I ran the debug tests on the result from this test page: http://www.barneydavey.com/atest-squeeze-page/. The squeeze form debug log was all Success. The eStore_post_payment_debug.log had these results:

Hi, I have both boxes checked.
Use MailChimp AutoResponder:
Global MailChimp Integration:I only have one list with MailChimp and I double-checked the spelling is correct. The message shows SUCCESS :MailChimp list to signup to:Barney_Davey_Mailing_Lists, which is the one I am using.
The shortcode I am using for the free download is: [wp_eStore_free_download_ajax:product_id:2:end]
It form only requires a first name. I'm wondering if that is the cause. I don't have a problem with paid products getting names added. Many thanks!

There can be no failure messages for the subscription to fully work (not a single failure line). So you need to find out why the API call is failing first.
From the error I can see that it is complaining about the last name not being present.
The following error means you didn't provide the last name in the "Name Field":
Msg=LNAME must be provided - Please enter a valueIn your mailchimp list you must have made the last name mandatory. If you want your users to be able to sign up just using the first name then you shouldn't make the last name mandatory in your mailchimp account.
Does that make sense?
