I have the emember, estore and eaffiliate and I have a coaching program that I am offering a $1 trial period and then 5 payments of $39.97...

Do I need to add the $1 in the main section on the top when creating the product price?

I added the payment information below in the subscription as follows:

Trial Billing Amount = 1
Trial Billing Period = 7
Recurring Billing Amount = 39.97
Recurring Billing Cycle = 30 days
Recurring Billing Count = 5
Reattempt on failure = checked

Can I trust that this will automatically charge the person's credit card or paypal account 7 days after the $1 trial period is complete for the $39.97 and then do it for four more times after that? Will the person be bothered or will the transaction just take place automatically after they buy the trial period for $1?

I left out the $1 on the top when creating the product price and I tested the checkout page and it said $0 and would not go through.

I think the other thing I was also wondering is do I need to create a paypal button for this and if so, what amount would I create the paypal button for if there is a trial amount and five more monthly payments of more?

1. "Do I need to add the $1 in the main section on the top when creating the product price?" - It doesn't really matter what value you place in the "Price" field when you use a subscription payment as it takes the values from the "Subscription Section" of the product. Simply use "1.00" in the price field if you like.

2. "Can I trust that this will automatically charge the......" - Yes, if you click on that subscription button and land on the PayPal's page you will see that PayPal tells you exactly what will be charged and when.

3. No, you don't need to create a PayPal button. You just follow exactly what it says on the documentation here:

Hi,

Thank you for that quick reply.

When I did not put the $1 in the top part and went to check out, the paypal page did not show the one dollar even though I had filled out the subscription info perfectly.

I actually had to place the $1 in the top part because the paypal would not let me complete any payment with a zero balance.

I just tried to leave out the $1 in the top part and made sure the bottom subscription info was filled out correctly and the paypal page still reads zero.

I'm concerned that it won't work properly, but I am now testing it and will know more in a few days.

The Price title and the $9.97 right after is the area I'm talking about. If I leave the top part blank, no price shows up here next to the "Price" title. If I could make the "Price" title go away, that would be better.

I did find out how to get this to work without having to add in the dollar amount on top, but I'm still having an issue with the "Price" title not going away.

Is there a way I can make that "Price" title disappear?

Use the following shortcode and add show_price=0 parameter to turn off the price display (adjust the value of the id=1 parameter to match your product ID):
