Hi. I’m trying to use NextGen Gallery and WP e-Store to sell photographs from my website and I’m ready to tear my hair out over this problem.

I’ve added “[wp_eStore:product_id:2:end]” into the description of each photo in a gallery and “[nggallery id=15 template=wp-eStore ]” into the blog post.
This displays each photo in the gallery with drop down boxes for various sizes and finishes.
    So far so good.

However, after clicking Add To Cart for a photo, the shopping cart only displays the name of the product and the various choices made: “Paper Prints (Matt) (10×8)”
Is there any way to make the shopping cart display the name of the product (Paper Prints), the gallery name (Tim and Beth’s Wedding), the name of the chosen photo (tim_beth_wed_124) and the chosen variations (Matt & 10×8)?

Hi, the plugin do not do anything other than it says on this NextGen gallery documentation:

PayPal has restriction on how many characters you can put in your product name which is why the plugin needs to be extra careful to not add too much information. Every product is Unique to an image so from the Product Name you should be able to figure out which gallery it belongs to and also the name of the photo.

Hi again, when using the template wp-eStore-auto how does the plugin grab an image's filename/alttext after clicking the 'Buy Now' button?

I'm trying to replace the Product Name in the Shopping Cart with the Image Name. That way the client can choose lots of photos with different variations and purchase them all at once rather then one at a time.

I believe that you are using the "NextGen Gallery Alternate Integration Method" this only works with "Buy Now" buttons. You need to use the integration method here: http://www.tipsandtricks-hq.com/wordpress-estore-and-nextgen-gallery-integration-create-photo-shop-1200

To use the "Add to Cart" option you will need to configure each photo (The best way to do this is use the photo name as the product name e.g. blue water).
