Installing and Upgrading WordPress eStore plugin is very easy. The installation of this plugin is similar to all the other WordPress plugins.
Fresh Installation
- Unzip and Upload the folder ‘wp-affiliate-platform’ to the ‘/wp-content/plugins/’ directory.
- Activate the plugin through the ‘Plugins’ menu in WordPress.
Upgrade
Before you ask…
Yes, the plugin will retain all the previous information that you saved. No data (your affiliate details, settings values etc.) will get lost during the upgrade.
Important Note 1: If you have a live site where customers are constantly making purchase then it is a good idea to install the new version of the plugin on a test WordPress site first to minimize any chance of upgrade related issue taking you out by surprise. Most people prefer to have a test WordPress installed in one of the sub-directories (you can install it in a sub-domain too). This way if you face an issue due to upgrade you can report to us and while we work on it, your main site won’t be affected.
Important Note 2: Some people have this bad habit of keeping multiple copies of the same plugin in the “plugins” directory. This is the source of many problems. Please note that you should only have one version of any WordPress plugin in the plugins directory at any given time. If you want to keep backups then you can keep it in your “uploads” directory or your computer’s hard drive.
With that said, please follow the instructions below when upgrading the WordPress Affiliate Platform plugin from an older version to a newer version:
Preparation: This is optional (unless you have made custom modifications) but it is a good idea to keep a backup of the currently installed version before you upgrade to the latest version.
- Deactivate and Delete the older version of the ‘WP Affiliate Platform’ plugin from the Plugins menu. It is important that you delete the older version of the plugin in this step before performing step 2.
- Unzip and upload the new version to the ‘/wp-content/plugins/’ directory.
- Activate the plugin through the ‘Plugins’ menu in WordPress.
Once the plugin is installed it will track all referrals to any of your blog/site pages.

after I install this plugin, i dont see the statistic working… no at all, even i click myself the banner, and i have almost 30 affiliate since now after last week, the stats still on zero no click, no sales..
if i reinstall back this plugin, do i lost all my affiliates???
@Shahrul, this shouldn’t happen can you please post the URL of where you are using this plugin so I can take a look?
Reinstalling the plugin doesn’t delete any affiliate record or the settings. In other words nothing gets lost.
the link is on my website, you can click my name.. anyway, if u want the admin access, i can send to ur email..
Okay I had a quick look and it looks like you have two sperate wordpress installation. One in your root domain:
http://www.hafizjewel.com/
and the other at the following URL:
http://www.hafizjewel.com/affiliate
You didn’t install the plugin on the wordpress install that is on your root domain. How is it suppose to track the links if the plugin isn’t even installed? It’s like you have installed the Akismet plugin on “wordpress install A” and you are expecting it to block spam comment on “wordpress install B”.
Please let me know if this is not the case.
Hi I have the same problem, the system doesn’t tracks the klicks. You find my url, if you click to my name
Did you put the affiliate link on a different page then click on it to test or did you just enter the link in the browser directly?
in the browser and in a page
I have created a access for you:
test
test
@Affiliate, I can’t find your email address in my customer database. Can you please use a valid email that you used to purchase the plugin so I can verify it and give you proper support?
A programmer has bought the products and installed for me. He’s mail is unclearbit@gmail.com.
I understand… I can’t find your programmers email address in my database either. I would recommend you contact the programmer to address this issue. Due to people illegally reselling my plugin without my permission I have been verifying every purchase before I offer support. I hope you understand this.
yes of course but he has bought the plugin only for me and installed it.
I understand but I need to verify this.. there is a really simple solution to this.. please have your programmer contact me and once the verification is done I will be over to your site to address the issue.
got the e-mail?
Yep I have sent you an email so we can organize site access so I can take a look at this.
Hi Admin
We had a similar problem to what Shahrul has had in the posts we have reviewed, except that we have only installed your plug-in in one directory ie /affiliates
After we installed your plugin I thought we had found the answer to our prayers…I was wrong!
We don’t see any statistics at all even click through’s see the statistic working
Hi Bill, please provide the following pieces of information so I can see what is missing:
1) URL of the landing page of a product (a page where you are testing this is fine).
2) The URL of the affiliate login page.
Did you do any custom modification to the plugin?
Was wondering if this is compatiable with wordpress 3.0
@Mike, all of our plugins are compatible with the latest version of WordPress.
can it be used for zen cart or other platforms
Hi Mike, The Affiliate is already pre integrated with some platforms. You can find all the integration options under the section called “Integration” here:
http://www.tipsandtricks-hq.com/wordpress-affiliate/
There is also a generic integration option for platforms that are not listed on the above page:
