Hi,
I want to know if with this plugin is possible to build a Custom member profile so that i upload invoices (pdf files) to specific users and when they log in they see/download the .pdf from their profiles/download area.

You can embed your videos on a WordPress post or page then protect that post or page with eMember so only your members can see the content of the page (which is the embedded video). You probably should check vimeo’s terms and conditions first though. I am not sure if they allow you to host videos that you are going to sell. Most users prefer to host their videos on amazon S3 then embed the video on a WordPress page.

My membership site will allow user to watch educational videos. I was planning to have Vimeo house my videos, with password only access for members. Would this setup work, or would you suggest an alternative.

@DesignGirl, Yes this can be done. We just added this feature not to long ago so if you already have the plugin all you need to do is get an update and you should have this option. This also works good with the section protection option to protect a page for a specific member id.

With eMember can I have it so when a member (in this case a client) logs in it redirects them to a page specifically for them? This way I can set up a page where the client can view the work I am doing for them (only they can see it).

@Vince, The short answer is yes but to be more specific I need to know if you are going to use a WordPress Multi-site install or just install 3 copies of WordPress in 3 different directories.

Will this plugin work if blogs are installed in sub directories of the main site? For example, 3 blogs – all in a unique sub directory of the main domain.

It basically means that you only allow logged in user to be able to purchase goods from you. If someone is trying to checkout without being logged into the site then the plugin won’t let them checkout instead it will send them to the URL specified in the “Redirection URL for Anonymous Checkout” field. Most admins simply use the URL of the login page in that field. You can also redirect to another page where you explain why the customer cannot checkout without logging in and what they can do next to continue checkout (for example log into the site or register for a free membership account then log in).

Thank you for your last answer. I wanted to know how to integrate your Affiliate Plugin with Wishlist, and your answer was helpful. But… I’ve just bought several plugins here, and desactivated Wishlist to use eMember
So I have one question about using eMember with eStore : in a setting box, I can read :

“(Only use these options if you are using the WP eMember Plugin)

Only Logged In Members Can Checkout
When checked the plugin will not allow an anonymous user to continue shopping cart checkout unless the user logs in or registers for an account in eMember.

Redirection URL for Anonymous Checkout
When an anonymous user clicks the “Checkout” button in the shopping cart, the user will be reditected to this URL requesting him/her to log in or register for an account.”

So what about his Checkout ? Do I have to put a button on the redirection page to let him finish his payment ? Or is it already done ?

Hello, does emember allow protecting just one multimedia file, for example an mp3 file, while leaving another file free to be accessed.
One file would be a free or teaser version, while the protected file would be the premium file.

Glad to hear that you like the eStore plugin. The item selling for member will work the same way it does now. I just want to be sure as to what you mean by “all static pages”. These are WordPresss pages right? You can use both your posts or pages to deliver the membership content (eMember can protect the content of both your posts and pages). The eMember demo site will help you see this better.

Hello,

My website has all static pages and I use your e-commerce plugin (great by the way) for the store. I would like to set up a members area for articles and images and audio downloads, would I use the membership plug in and have all that content in a blog type area (ie using posts rather than pages)?.

And if so, if there were some items for sale in the membership area, as well as those already in the site now, would the e-commerce shopping cart widget work across both of those areas (for example if a member added an item to the cart from the membership area, and then continued shopping in the existing shop, would that all be one seamless process?)

Hi there,

I need to offer users on a site a way to create a profile page and wondered if this plugin would suit my needs. I just need them to be able to login, add a profile and possibly have access to certain pages not accessible by normal users.

My only concern is that this plugin does a lot more than I need it to & am a little worried it will slow parts of the site down. Is this a valid concern?

Btw, I use your eStore plugin which is superb.

Also eStore/eMember is integrated with the Affiliate. The Affiliate integrates through the payment processor in this case the eStore.

I want to setup a WP MU membership site where members will be able to setup their own landing and sales pages that will have an affiliate program for members to promote the site. I am looking at S2member for the member management. S2member does not have an affiliate capability. Is emember and estore compatible with this concept?

@Alex, We obviously cannot give you a definitive answer on that since we cannot predict the future but we have been doing this for quite some time and have no reason to stop in the near future. we actively work on all of our plugins and keep them upto date.
