@SvendK, switching from simple shopping cart to estore is not problematic but their usage methods are slightly different. The video tutorials on the documentation site should give you a good idea on this.

Valerie, It sounds like you might be using a older version of the eStore plugin. Can you tell me what version of the eStore you are using?

Hi – I’m doing a website for a client, and maybe I’m going for the eStore plugin, but until further, I’m fine with the Simple Paypal Shoppingcart plugin.
Would there be any crumbles in changing from Simple to eStore in the future?

I’m going to use the NextGen integration as well, is that going to be a problem when switching to eStore in the future?

Another thing, would I be able to store the user details on site, so that the user don’t have to write it again, and for me to add the user to a news letter and such stuff?

Thank you for a really great plugin! As the other people write, it’s impressively simple and impressively effective. It does not interfere with the homepage or take over the home page – it just plugs in… :)

I could get you more sales if this cart worked with roman cart. Customers want my WordPress e-commerce sites and I want to use your cart but many use roman cart on their old html websites and want to keep using it.

Only way I can think is that when a product is added to shopping cart two seperate sets of data are stored. There would also be a product ID entry on the product form.

In theory to me it sounds possible but you know your cart. If it were you open up the ability for people to use roman cart and therfor use any other payment method. You can then state all the payment methods as something your plugin can help offer.

Thats got to catch some attention!

    What do you think?

I can’t find my previous message about the coupons. Anyway it’s fixed. Thank you!

  • #6 by Valerie on January 18, 2010 - 2:51 am

Hello, thank you for your answer about the coupon. But how come I do not have the conditions in my coupon setting page? I cannot set conditions, that part is totally missing….

  • #7 by admin on January 18, 2010 - 2:33 am

Hi Valerie, You should be able to apply coupons to a specific product using the conditional coupon option explained in this doc:

    http://www.tipsandtricks-hq.com/ecommerce/how-to-use-coupons-discounts-in-wp-estore-364

At this moment it is not possible to create multiple products from one template but I will add this capability.

  • #8 by Valerie on January 17, 2010 - 4:59 pm

    Hello,
I love your plugin! Easy to use! Great price!

    I have 2 questions.
    1. Would there be a way to apply coupons to only one type of products that I sell? Could be one WP category or even one product category. So the cart would have to check if that type of product is in the cart for the coupon to work or something like that…

    2. I have many products that are the same type. Is there a quick way to create many products at a time when they have all the same options? If I could copy and paste or create a product template… I did not find an answer to this question.

    Thank you!

  • #9 by admin on January 16, 2010 - 8:21 pm

Hi Charles, Glad to hear that you like the plugin. This one is a paid plugin so it’s not on WordPress directory but I have the simple shopping cart on wordpress. Here is the link:

    http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/wordpress-simple-paypal-shopping-cart/

  • #10 by Charles on January 16, 2010 - 3:30 pm

    Hi Amin:
purchased eStore and LOVE it! Would be a bargain at 5 times the price.
Tried to give a rating for eStore at WordPress.org plugin directory but could NOT find eStore anywhere in the plugin directory.

Can u post a link to it if eStore is indeed in the directory??
If it isn’t then please submit it!
Searching for ecommerce plugins in the WP directory only brings up garbage stuff that doesn’t have the features or ease of use of eStore.

    Keep up the good work.

@Chodhry, You can turn manual checkout on from the “Payment Gateway Settings” tab under the settings menu.

Yes, most things will have to be done manually as you want to confirm that the customer actually made the payment before he gets anything.

Affiliate commission is given out immediately (this is so you don’t have to keep track of who referred who) but if a payment doesn’t go through then you will just have to reverse the commission from the “Sales Menu” of the affiliate plugin by adding a negative commission of the same amount.

  • #12 by William Estrella on January 15, 2010 - 9:22 pm

I just recently started using WordPress. I’ve been hooked, and now that I’ve found this plugin I feel like I just struck gold. The price is very reasonable. Thanks for all your work. We really appreciate it.

Well, that would be ok. How can I turn this feature on?

And as I also have emember and afiliate integrated. Does that have any impact on them?

For example, will I have to upgrade memberships manually as well?

And would my affiliates will earn the comission once the purchase has been approved or when the payment was made? so after payment through an affiliate link, I get to give a refund and do not send the link. Would this automatically deduct the comission amount from the affiliate account?

  • #14 by Ivy on January 14, 2010 - 8:13 pm

Chodhry, You can have manual check out but this will apply to all the items that are in the shopping cart. You would have to send out links to each product.

  • #15 by admin on January 14, 2010 - 3:56 am

Hi Joe, Nope, multiple membership under one email address is not possible. Each member must have unique email address (this is due to WordPress’s requirement)

There is no straight forward way to do this but there a few ways you can achieve this.

    i) Create various coupon codes and make it available to the appropriate membership levels

    or

ii) Create two sets of product (one normal price and one discounted price) and put them on the corresponding membership pages.

  • #16 by Joe on January 13, 2010 - 12:43 pm

I have both eMember and eStore plugins. I have two questions:

    1) Is there a way to give the option to signup for multiple memberships at the same time? Not as a package but rather selecting those multiple items out of a list of all items. I’m aware that this can be done with the eStore products option but I wanted them to actually buy/pay for multiple memberships not just products.

    2) Can I set it up so that different membership levels get the option to order more products/memberships at a discounted rate. For example, once a silver member pays and signs in they now have the option to buy the gold and platinum at 25% off. But… a gold member has the option to buy the platinum at 50% off.

Thanks in advance. These plugins are awesome by the way. ;)

  • #17 by Ivy on January 12, 2010 - 7:59 pm

James, One of my main concerns is, after a buyer adds to the cart and pays fot the item what happens next?

Paypal sends a IPN file to your site and the plugin verify that the product was paid for and that this information came from Paypal. Once this is done it will send out an email to the customer with the download links in it for all the digital products that where purchased and information on the non digital products such as name and price (this is like a receipt). This will also send you an email telling you what was purchased, Paypal will also send you a payment email.

The person is sent a download link? Where to? Where do they input their email address?
This uses the email address from their Paypal.

Secondly, is it possible for the buyer to pass the link to another person or to publsh it for others to use or does the download link expire?

You can set the expire time for the downloads.

Would I upload it to my WordPress Library for example or should I use a third party? And if so how? What are the limits?

You can upload the file anywhere you want to.

Also would spiders be able to find the download link page?

The plugin send out an encrypted link so the person buying the product do not know the location of the download. So the answer to this is no spiders would not be able to find the download page.

    Ivy

  • #18 by james on January 12, 2010 - 10:06 am

Oh, one other thing, I am wondering if you could tell me where I should host my product for download?

Would I upload it to my WordPress Library for example or should I use a third party? And if so how? What are the limits?

Also would spiders be able to find the download link page?

  • #19 by james on January 12, 2010 - 9:56 am

    Hi,

This looks to be exactly what I am looking for but I have a couple of questions before I go ahead and buy.

One of my main concerns is, after a buyer adds to the cart and pays fot the item what happens next?

The person is sent a download link? Where to? Where do they input their email address?
Secondly, is it possible for the buyer to pass the link to another person or to publsh it for others to use or does the download link expire?

Thanks, Look forward to your reply so I can get my store going!

  • #20 by chodhry on January 12, 2010 - 4:18 am

It may look stupid but can we sell some manual products through this plugin? Where the buyer will only get a confirmation email about the product and product itself will be sent after doing necessary customization to them.

So product is still digital but need some manual custom work depending upon the client choices and being sent to them manually.

Anyway we can make this possible?

  • #22 by admin on January 8, 2010 - 11:13 pm

Hi Michael, this is the aweber list name (e.g. mylist@aweber.com). In AWeber you have setup a few list for different campaigns I presume so put the name of the list where you want the buyers to be opted in.

  • #23 by Michael Avery on January 8, 2010 - 7:59 pm

    Hi,

Not quite sure I get this? in WP eStore/Settings/Auto Responder Settings

Aweber list name setting, is it the email address if the list that goes in that field or is it the actual list name at aWeber that goes in that field?

@Daniel, This plugin supports any currency that is supported by PayPal. I am pretty sure Canadian Dollar is supported by PayPal.

  • #25 by admin on January 7, 2010 - 3:24 am

@Ann, Yes, I plan to add Google Checkout gateway to this plugin. Free updates are also included in the price. Please refer to the license agreement of individual product for the last question (on the documentation site of every product there is a link to the License agreement for that product)

  • #26 by Daniel on January 6, 2010 - 10:29 pm

    Hello,

    Any support for Canadian currency?

    Thx!

  • #27 by Ann on January 6, 2010 - 2:27 pm

I am just about to buy this plugin as well as the affiliate program plugin. It looks great, the price is right, and it looks very well supported (which is worth 2x the price!) I do have some questions first though.

Will there ever be a google checkout integration? And are free updates included in the price? How many sites can I install a single purchase on?

    Thanks!

  • #28 by admin on January 5, 2010 - 3:10 am

There is no product rating ability… the way it is handled is that you have each blog post or page as a product and then you can use a wordpress plugin that allows the visitors to rate that post or page. They can also leave comments. All of these reflects to that product.

The digital products can be uploaded using the “Media Uploader” that is built into WordPress… any of your customers who is an user of your wordpress with appropriate permission can use it to upload products.

  • #29 by Learco on January 4, 2010 - 8:53 pm

    Hi,
Thanks for the quick reply. I have two other questions.
Is it possible for customers to rate the products or write a comment?
Is it possible for customers to upload their own product?
    Thanks,
    Learco

  • #30 by Ryan Bayne on January 1, 2010 - 3:43 pm

I’m modifying the eStore plugin to have a WYSIWYG editor on the product page and category selection. It will create a new post when adding a new product. Post title will be the product title, when you upload an image to the WYSIWYG editor you can quickly get the url for the product thumbnail which might make life easier for some.

The post will automatically display the product and the products link from thumbnail setting will be the posts permalink.

I plan to create a plugin for this function also and make it suitable for all carts on wordpress. I thought however if it is popular it could be added to eStore as a standard ability.

    Contact webmaster@webtechglobal.co.uk for more information.

Hi Jude, yes, you will be able to use this plug in to offer a free ‘product’ (image) separately through the squeeze page option to build up your list.

Using the squeeze page type form is pretty simple.. the following doc should help:

    http://www.tipsandtricks-hq.com/ecommerce/how-to-make-a-squeeze-page-using-the-wordpress-estore-plugin-126

  • #34 by Jude on December 22, 2009 - 7:38 pm

I already have products (artwork) set up/available on my wordpress site via the ‘e-commerce’ plug in, and dont have time right now to do all the work of changing them to a new plug-in/shopping cart (ie perhaps WP Estore). But I need a way to create an opt-in box to offer a free downloadable image as a means of creating a list, and I’m having a surprisingly tough time finding info online about how to create this. Your plug-in seems like an option, but I wonder would I be able to use this plug in to offer a free ‘product’ (image) seperately from my already existing e-commerce products? (If I got Estore I would at some point reformat my products using it rather than e-commerce, especially since it integrates with NextGen.. but right now face time constraints). Also, how easy is it to use the sqeeze page to offer a free image? Is it an obvious part of the creation process for the opt-in box or are there explanations, tutorials or tech support available? I’m new to all this but have to be able to figure it out myself..

    thanks, Jude aka Tatakwan

hello i am having difficulty making my estore button work. You can see that the variations i selected and the actual price as well as the actual button format is not working. I was using the basic add to cart plugin, but switched, I deactivated this plugin in the hopes of my estore plugin working.
    see page: http://yasmeensong.com/2009/12/yasmeensong-posters/
this page is just being formed, the cart is way down on the bottom right sidebar.

it seems that when I use my own addtocart button it is stretched and weird looking… (using thesis)
