Do this plugins provide drip content function? So that the new member will not get all the contents if he join few months later.. If no, do you plan to have this in future? I am interested to get this wp emember to work with wp affiliate and wp estore that I already bought.

  • admin said:

WP eMember does the drip content using the “Auto Upgrade” feature. Auto upgrade allows you to shcedule an auto upgrade of a member’s membership level after a configured amount of time thus making more content available to the member. Please see the “Auto Upgrade” section in this post to learn more.

  • Bill said:

I looked at the Auto Upgrade section but I’m wondering if I can do the following – Let’s say I have a Gold Member who has access to 5 posts and I want to add 5 more posts so that they drip out to him at certain intervals – day 2o ,day 25, etc. Can I do this type of sequential drip without changing the member from one membership level to the next? Thank you.

  • admin said:

Nope, it doesn’t have the drip content in the same sense the Autoresponder service providers use whereby you specify an email to be sent out on day 20.

The Auto Upgrade is more suitable for an online course/class whereby the member gets promoted through the membership levels (giving access to more content in the process) based on the membership lengh.

A typical use case would be…

    You have 3 membership levels:
    1) Beginner
    2) Intermediate
    3) Advanced

You have configured it so a member gets promoted to “Intermediate” level after being a “Beginner” member for 30 days. A member gets promoted to the “Advanced” level after being a member of the “Intermediate” level for 14 days.

Now, when a visitor signs up as a beginner member he/she will automatically be promoted to “Intermediate” level after being a member for a month which will allow the member to see all the “Intermediate” course content and so on.

  • Jim Kibler said:

Does this membership plugin allow people to have a 7 or 14 day trial membership and then automatically begins to charge them on a monthly basis?

  • admin said:

@Jim, yeah.. all you have to do is create a subscription button using PayPal or use the WP eStore plugin to process the payment.

  • MD said:

    Hi,

I was wondering how I could incorporate WP estore with WP emember. What I want to do is this:

    - I want all the posts/articles to be accessible to the public, but only members can download the product that’s within the article. Is that possible?

    Thanks!

  • admin said:

Yeah, pretty simple… you just protect the download button using the section protection method of eMember:

    http://www.tipsandtricks-hq.com/wordpress-membership/how-to-protect-a-section-of-a-post-or-page-88

Now, anyone can view the post or page content but only members will be able to see the “Download” button within the article that you have protected using the section protection.

  • MD said:

Thanks for answering my question so fast. I will be purchasing WP emember now! I could kick myself for not buying it together with WP estore ( a few months ago I was thinking of purchasing both but only purchased WP estore). Oh well off to PayPal! :)

  • WVW said:

I just purchased the emember and estore and I keep getting this when I try to add a membership level and product.

(Membership Level “free” couldn’t be created due to error.)

And when I add product it says its added but it does not show up..

I am trying to get emember to work with estore….

    Thanks

Let me know how I can fix this?

  • admin said:

@WVW, it looks like the database tables didn’t get created activation time which kind of indicates that there was an error that happened when you activated the plugin. Did you notice any error while activating the plugin? Can you please try reactivating them?

  • Noche said:

My website will process payments in a different way. so far we have 3 levels, free, silver, gold. Since the flow will change, meaning they pay me directly according to the level, I will have to manually create a user/pwd for them. My question, is there a way to send them a link for them to sign up themselves, maybe 3 diff links according to the levels they paid for?

  • admin said:

You don’t need to send them a link for signing up. If you are manually setting the account up from the dashboard then after you create the account they will recieve a “Registration Complete” email that will contain their account details. You will need to check this “Send Email to Member When Added via Admin Dashboard” option from the email settings menu.

  • Noche said:

What I meant was, we have already over a thousand members already, we are using the pwd protected post method and we are trying to get them into different membership levels. I was thinking, sending group A a link for membership A, group B a different link for membership B, and so forth, this way each member will sign up themselves and we won’t have to manually enter 1000+ names. Is this possible?

  • admin said:

Hi Noche, I think I understand what you need.

The following shortcode allows you to place a registration form for a particular membership level which will come in handy for your case. For example, the following shortcode will add a registration form for membership level 6:

    [wp_eMember_registration_form_for level=6]

Anyone who signs up using this form will be placed in the membership level 6. Now you can place as many registration forms as you want for all of your different memberships. Then send the link to the correct registration form to the appropriate group.

Make sure to use it carefully as you do not want to have one of these lying around for a paid membership level :)

With this plugin, is there a way to NOT show everything that is normally on a blog page or post, like all the stuff in the sidebar, the ad at the top of the page, etc.? I want my class content to be free of all the distractions that are on my normal blog post or pages. Also, I’d like different tabs in my navbar at the top for my class content pages, not the same as on my blog.

To do all this, will I have to do a whole separate WP installation??

    Thanks!
    Kelly

  • admin said:

Hi Kelly, how the page or post looks is controlled by your WordPress theme. Some themes let you have a post or page without the sidebar. even if your theme do not have this feature you can easily incorporate it using WordPress’s custom page template. This post will explain it more for you:

Can this plugin work with the directorypress theme?

  • admin said:

Hi Drew, it can work with any theme that has been coded properly. The directorypress theme looks like a decent theme so there should be no issue.

  • Drew said:

Thanks for your quick response. :)

  • Casey said:

Can I use the plug-in on multiple websites or do I have to purchase another copy for each site?

  • Ivy (author) said:

Hi, The eMember is a single site license so you would need a copy for each site you wanted to use this on. Please contact us about a multi site license.

I have a question after all. Lets say a member wants to leave a comment, he/she is already logged in. The comment box will still ask for his/her name and email. Is there a way that members can become Users in WordPress? this would be the only way for them to leave a comment as someone who is already logged in.

I know I can do the opposite, I can convert the WP users into members, but, how about the other way?

    Thx

  • Ivy (author) said:

@Noche, There is an option called “WordPress Integration Options” in the settings menu of the plugin. This will make it so every eMember also becomes a WordPress user. Please let me know if this is not what you are looking for.

  • Jamie said:

Two questions, can this work with mailchimp email platform and can it work with PayPal integration?

    Thanks!

  • Ivy (author) said:

    Hi Jamie,

    1. Yes there is “PayPal Plain Button Integration” You can read more about this here:

    http://www.tipsandtricks-hq.com/wordpress-membership/how-to-use-a-simple-paypal-payment-button-to-accept-membership-payment-146

    2. The MailChimp integration has not be added yet but we do plan to add this shortly. The time frame is unknown at this time as our to do list is always changing.

  • Ivy (author) said:

Hi Luke, This should work as you specify where you want the login widget. I have not personally had any experience with this theme but it should be fine.

Is the wp-emember possible to be used in wordpress multisite?

What I want to happen is when someone register on wp-emember automatically they are also create blog site from the wordpress multisite.

  • Ivy (author) said:

Hi Jaky, Yes all of our plugins work with WordPress MS.

  • jaky said:

@Ivy so it is working.. here are other few questions

how about if they register on the wp-emember do they need to register on the subdomain of the multisite or it is automatically registered also in the subdomain features?

  • Ivy (author) said:

Hi, Does the sub domains share the WordPress Database? Are you using the Create WordPress user option in eMember?

  • jaky said:

@Ivy I have not buy yet the wp-emember, i got interest because one of my friend is using that.

so i want to ask the posibility.

what i want to happen is on my website, i have a registration form and i want people to register w/ wp-emember and wpmultisite the same time.

is that posible? what do i need to do to make that happen.

  • Ivy (author) said:

@Jaky, We have many clients that use our plugins on WordPress MS but we have not personally done much testing on WordPress MS. What I know of this options is that each subdomain works like a stand alone site but you can control all the sites from one Admin. So if this is the case then the member would need to be registered on each site. Again I could be wrong about how the MS works as I have not personally used it.

    Hi there,

is there any chance to export memberdata into CSV files? I know it´s possible to display the members email adresses but I would need Names, email etc. in a more structured way.

    Any chance?

  • admin said:

Yes, you can export your members data to a CSV file from the “Members List” tab (use the “Export All Member info” option).

  • Danny said:

    Hi there

I am looking for a membership plugin to use for the following:
    1. I want my users to sign up first (fill in a registration form)
    2. They will receive an email for activation and then redirect them to a page with the restricted content for them to fill in a form to submit.
    3. I will then receive an email with all their info from the submitted form.

Will this plugin help me achieve my goal?

    Thanks in advance
    CHEERS :)

  • admin said:

@Danny, yes you should be able to achieve that with this membership plugin. This page has a few different membership signup scenerio that you can read for more explanation:

  • Tuhin Iman said:

Does emember use the wordpress user/roles database tables or does it create new one?

  • Danny said:

Thanks admin, I had a look at those examples, and they fit perfectly to my blog site idea.

Once you purchase the membership plugin, is this a license free or 1 licence per blog site?

    Thanks

  • admin said:

@Tuhin, There is an option in eMember that you can use to tell eMember to use the wordpress user/roles.

  • admin said:

@Danny, eMember has a multi-site license by default.

  • Danny said:

    Excellent!! Thanks @admin

  • Dan said:

Is there a way to limit the ability to read and submission of comment to members only?

  • admin said:

@Dan, You can control which comment can be seen by which membership level. To control the submission of comment you just check the “Users must be registered and logged in to comment” field from the “Discussion” settings menu of WordPress.

  • rita abraham said:

I just want to confirm something. Can a user have multiple memberships? If they purchase 3 different memberships at my site, when they log in do they see all their purchases under one login?

    Thanks in advance,
    Allegra

  • admin said:

@Allegra, yes you can configure the plugin to work like that. There is a feature in eMember called “secondary membership”. When you enable this feature every time a member purchases a new membership it goes to his/her profile and that person can access content from all these different memberships that he/she purchased.

  • Mark said:

Hi, Yes this was changed to a multi site license. All of our plugins excluding the PDF Stamper and Extra Payment Gateway Bundle are all multi site licenses. The PDF Stamper and Extra Payment Gateway Bundle are single site licenses.
