The WP PDF Stamper plugin can be integrated with ClickBank payments. This can be useful when you want to sell your ClickBank eBooks from your WordPress site and want to stamp the PDF eBooks with the customer name and email address before giving it to them.

What can you expect from this integration?

The following points shows the flow of events:

You add an eBook product to your Clickbank account.

You want to sell this product from your WordPress site so you add a buy button for this product on a page.

When the customers click the buy button they will be sent to the clickbank for payment processing.

Once the payment is processed Clickbank will redirect this customer to a page on your site. This is called a “Thank You” page (you create this page in WordPress).

The PDF stamper plugin will stamp the PDF eBook associated with this product with the customer’s name and email address. Clickbank does not send the customer’s address back to us so we can only use the name and email address for stamping purpose.

The PDF stamper plugin will then send an email to this customer will a link to download this stamped PDF eBook.

The Integration Steps

The following steps outlines what you need to do to achieve the above:

Step 1: Create your “Thank You” page in WordPress with the message that you want to give to your customer when they land on this page after the payment (You probably want to thank your customer for making a purchase and tell them that they will receive an email). Place the following shortcode in this page (the following is an image so don’t try to copy and paste… type it in)

Take note of this “Thank You” page URL so you can use it as the return URL when you create your ClickBank product in step 2.

Step 2: Create your product in Clickbank. Note the product ID of this product (every product in Clickbank has a product ID associated with it)

Step 3: Place the buy button on a sales page. You can get the button code from ClickBank. A typical button code looks like the following:

<form action="http://item.vendor.pay.clickbank.net" method="post">
<input type="submit" value="Buy Now" />
</form>

Step 4: Use notepad or a similar software to open the “clickbank-config.php” file from the “api” directory (you can find this inside the WP PDF Stamper plugin package)

Step 5: Find the following block of text in this “clickbank-config.php” file:

$pdf_stamper_clickbank_items = array(
'1' => 'http://www.example.com/myfiles/product1.pdf',
'2' => 'http://www.example.com/myfiles/product2.pdf',
);

This basically tells the PDF stamper which file to stamp and send for which product. The two entries represent two products. These are just example values… you can add as many product information as you like.

Each product entry has a product ID and the PDF file’s URL. In the above example the product IDs are 1 and 2. You can change these values or add new entries.

Lets say, you have a Clickbank product that has a product ID of 122 and the PDF file for this product is stored in “http://www.your-domain.com/wp-content/uploads/my-ebook.pdf”. Then the entry for this will look like the following:

'122' => 'http://www.your-domain.com/wp-content/uploads/my-ebook.pdf',

Step 6: Once you are done editing the file with your product information you can upload this file to your server.

Now do a test transaction and make sure things are working as expected.

The WP PDF Stamper plugin requires the following installed on your server

Recent Version of WordPress (Version 3.0 or higher)

Recent Version of PHP (Preferably PHP 5 or higher)

IonCube Loader (this should be installed by default on most servers)

CURL Library (this should be installed by default on most servers)

mbstring extension of PHP (this should be installed by default on most servers)

If you are not sure that the above is present on your server then you can download the Minimum Requirement Checker plugin and check it.

Once you upload and activate the Minimum Requirement Checker plugin simply go to the settings menu of this plugin (click on the “Min Req Checker” tab under the “Settings” menu of your WordPress dashboard).

Requirement for the PDF File to be Stamped

The PDF creator you use must produce a valid PDF file according to the specifications specified by Adobe. (PDF files created by any adobe product, open office, PDF995 etc. are good examples)

The PDF stamper makes it to where you cannot modify the stamped copy of the PDF file (this is for extra security). Any option in the original PDF file that allows the user to modify the file, will not be available in the stamped copy of the PDF file.

What to do if You don’t Meet the Minimum Requirement

IonCube Loader and CURL Library are free libraries that are usually installed on most servers by default. If your server doesn’t have it then you can make a request to your web hosting and given that these are widely used free libraries they should add it to your server.

Your hosting provider can download a free copy of the popular IonCube Loader library from the following site and install it on your server:

Download Ioncube Loader

If you are not using a recent version of WordPress and PHP then you should consider upgrading it for security reasons anyway. Lot of bugs get addressed in the newer versions so it is always a good idea to stay current.

Branding your eBooks is very important. Making a name for yourself in the eBook industry is very hard if you do not brand your books. With the PDF Stamper you can easily brand your PDF eBooks with just a few simple steps. When you use the PDF Stamper your eBooks will be automatically branded with your specified text information and the buyer’s personal details.

This plugin is also very useful when using Private Label Rights (PLR) eBook. You can easily re-brand these eBooks with your own company information. One unique feature of the PDF Stamper is that it does not change the file format of the PDF file when it stamps. Most PDF stamper on the market changes the file format of the stamped PDF file to a windows based file, making it so the file can only be viewed on a windows based PC.

Branding your eBooks also secure them from being resold. This way someone can not take your eBook and resell it as their own. It is very important that you create a brand for your company and your eBooks.

Summary of why you should brand your eBooks

Secure your work as your own

Trusted brands sale more products

Re-branding (PLR) eBooks with your company information

It all comes down to securing your hard work and making a name for your company that is trusted and recognized.

There are 3 sub-settings under the main WP PDF Stamper Settings.

1. General PDF Stamper Settings

Under the general settings there are two fields:

Secret Key for PDF Stamping: You can specify a random code (secret key) in this field which will be used to authenticate any PDF stamp request. The default value is good enough as it is uniquely generated.

Destination Directory of Stamped Files: In this field you need to specify the URL of the directory where you want to keep your stamped PDF files. The default value is good enough for this field too.

2. PDF Stamper Text Format Settings

There are four fields under this setting. All these settings apply to the text that will be stamped in the PDF file.

Font Color: You can specify The font color in RGB (Red, Green, Blue) value in this field.

Font Style: You can set the font style either Bold, Italic or Underline in this field.

Font Size: The size of the font you want to use in the stamp.

Text Alignment: You can specify if your text of the stamp will be aligned to the left, right or center.

3. PDF File Security Settings

The file security settings allows you to control the accessibility of the PDF file:

Allow Print – The user is allowed to print the stamped PDF file. If you do not want your customers to be able to print it then uncheck this field.

Allow Copy – The user is allowed to copy or otherwise extract text and graphics from the stamped PDF file. If you do not want your customers to be able to copy any text or images from the PDF file then uncheck this field.

Allow Modify – The user with full acrobat product range is allowed to modify the contents of the stamped file. If you do not want the file to be modifiable then uncheck this field.

File Password – User password to open the file (you can either use a set password or specify it to use the email address of the customer as the password)

4. Footer Text Layout Settings

There are 3 options in this setting:

Line Distance from the Bottom of the Page: The value you specify in this field is used to determine the position of the text to be stamped in the PDF file. The default value is 15 millimeter (so the stamped text will be placed 15 millimeters above the bottom edge of the page).

Line Spacing: This value determines the space between the lines. The default value is 5 millimeter.

Footer Text: You can the specify the text which will be stamped in the PDF file in this filed. The default text stamps the customer name and address in the footer of every page of the PDF file. If you want to stamp any other customer information (e.g customer email address, phone number) then you need to specify that variable within bracers { } which will be replaced by the value dynamically.

Footer Text Dynamic Variables

At the moment you can specify the following variables/tags in the footer text area that will be replaced dynamically at transaction time when you use it with a payment system (e.g. PayPal, WP eStore):

{customer_name} – This will be replaced with the name of the customer making the purchase

{customer_email} – This will be replaced with the email address of the customer making the purchase

{customer_phone} – This will be replaced with the phone number of the customer making the purchase

{customer_address} – This will be replaced with the address of the customer making the purchase

{customer_business_name} – This will be replaced with the business name of the customer making the purchase (Please note that this will only work when the person paying for the item has a business name… not every customer will have a business)

Once you are done with settings you can click on “Update Options” to save your current settings. If you have made mistake while configuring the settings and messed up everything, you can also click the “Reset to Default” button and all the settings will be set to default.
