However, if you are using a product\/solution that doesn&#8217;t have an existing integration then this <strong>tracking via shortcode<\/strong> option maybe useful.<\/p>\n<p>You will need to be able to send your customers to a &#8220;Thank You&#8221; page on your site after the transaction. On this thank you page, you will use the following shortcode that will handle the affiliate tracking.<\/p>\n<p>When a customer goes to the thank you page, the following shortcode will execute and it will award commission if the customer was referred by an affiliate:<\/p>\n<pre>[wp_aff_award_custom_commission sale_amount=\"50.00\" item_id=\"ITEM-REFERENCE\"]\r\n<\/pre>\n<p>Make sure to change the amount and the reference value according to the actual cost of the item.<\/p>\n<p><strong>NOTE:<\/strong> This method of tracking cannot be used for everything so please contact us and describe your setup if you have any doubt.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Normally, you would be using one of our available affiliate integration options to integrate the affiliate plugin with the e-commerce solution you are using.
