The installation of this plugin is similar to all the other WordPress plugins.<\/p>\n<h2>Fresh Installation<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Go to the\u00a0<strong>Add New<\/strong>\u00a0plugins screen in your WordPress admin area<\/li>\n<li>Click the <strong>Upload Plugin<\/strong>\u00a0button<\/li>\n<li>Browse for the plugin file (wp-affiliate-platform.zip)<\/li>\n<li>Click\u00a0<strong>Install Now<\/strong>\u00a0and then\u00a0<strong>activate<\/strong>\u00a0the plugin<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Plugin Upgrade<\/h2>\n<p>Before you ask\u2026<\/p>\n<p><strong>Yes, the plugin will retain all the previous information that you saved. No data (your affiliate details, settings values etc.) will get lost during the upgrade.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Important Note:<\/span><\/strong> Some people have this habit of keeping multiple copies of the same plugin in the \u201cplugins\u201d directory. This can cause some problems. Please note that you should only have one version of any WordPress plugin in the plugins directory. If you want to keep backups, then you can keep it in your \u201cuploads\u201d directory or your computer&#8217;s hard drive.<\/p>\n<p>With that said, please follow the instructions below when upgrading the WordPress Affiliate Platform plugin from an older version to a newer version:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Preparation<\/strong>: This is optional (unless you have made custom modifications)\u00a0but it is a good idea to keep a backup of the currently installed version before you upgrade to the latest version.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Deactivate and Delete the currently installed\u00a0version of the &#8220;WP Affiliate Platform&#8221; plugin from the Plugins menu.
