How to Handle Affiliate Banner Ads When You Have Lots of Products

When creating an Affiliate program you may have many products you want to create adds for. However it can be hard to manage the ads if you have hundreds of products. Here are a few simple ways to get around this issue.

Option 1) Create Affiliate Links to The All Products Page

In most cases you will have one page (store/products page) where all your products are listed. You can link your affiliate banner or text link to this page. This will eliminate the need to create a banner for each product.

Remember the affiliate sale will be tracked no matter where the customer lands on your site. They do not need to land on a specific product page. The affiliate sale will be tracked for all products once the customer comes to your site via an affiliate link.

Option 2) Create a DIY Affiliate Pack for Your Affiliates

Another option is to let your affiliates create their ads however they want it. Here are the steps on how to do this.

Step 1: Create all the banner images you want to offer. This can be just a few or hundreds.

Step 2: Create a read me file that explains how to make any of your site’s URL as an affiliate link.

In order to create an affiliate link all you need to do is add ?ap_id=AFFILIATE_ID to the end of the URL.

Example:

http://www.yoursite.com/some-product-page?ap_id=aff_id

Step 3: Zip these files into one folder.

Step 4: Use the “Welcome Page Message (optional)” setting option in the affiliate plugin settings so you can provide a link to the zip file for download. Now, your affiliates have a do it yourself (DIY) affiliate pack that they can download and link to your site however they want.

Using this option allows your affiliates to choose what products they want to link to and which page to link to, this gives them more freedom without any hassle from your part. Bigger companies with lots of products usually take this approach.
