The WordPress Messenger Plugin allows the registered WordPress users of a site to send private messages between the WP users. If you have a community site where you promote social interaction between the users then this plugin should be a nice addition.

WP Messenger Plugin Installation

  • Go to the “Add New” plugins screen in your WordPress admin area
  • Click the “upload” tab
  • Browse for the plugin file (wp-messenger.zip)
  • Click “Install Now” and then activate the plugin

    @Fahdi, It doesn’t have the capability to send an email to the inbox. If enough people ask for it then we will look into adding an option for that.

    Hi,

    Great Plugin.

    So looks like, the message will be sent to user specified inbox within wordpress, any tips/tricks so that the message will be delivered to user/recipient email?

    I have followed the instructions and I have found a link Launch Messenger. But when i click on this link nothing happens! I have created a page and putted the shortcode.

    You could use the following to place a link to open the compose menu:

    Is there a possibility to prepare some link to put on page which opens Compose page with selected user?

    @Tim, at this stage the inbox can only be displayed in an overlay. This allows the messenger widget to be embedded anywhere without worrying about the width of the parent container.

    This looks great but is it possible to display the inbox etc within a page – i.e. without the inbox opening in a pop up window. The site that I have in mind will only be used by registered users.
