Hi, I’ve been to the free123 test account, it’s perfect technically!

Are you going to add e.g. members’ images, description field, other unique fields admins can name for members to fill out (would suit e.g. date of birth, preferred activities, address, etc. you name it… clicking on a member name/icon takes to his/her profile page) down the road? Or what are your plans for the membership plugin?

Thank you for the great work. Will send you my site with the eStore system on it to look at, this week.

  • #2 by admin on October 4, 2009 - 10:32 pm

@Oven builder, as any of my other plugins I am going to actively develop the membership plugin so a lot of features will be added as I receive feedback from the users. I have added your suggestions to my to do list for this plugin.

Not sure exactly what you have in mind but you should be able to achieve this in a few different ways. For example, you can create a page called “Special Download” and put the download link to this file there and then only give access to this page to all the membership levels that you want to give access to this download.

Now we can have a member’s area for our running website!
And it is reasonably priced too!
    Thanks!

Can a buyer have more then 1 membership?

I would like to sell videos. Each video is a purchase. When a buyer buys 1 video then he will only have access to that 1 video. then you can buy more video and only use view those videos. Each video would expire after x days.

    Is this possible?

  • #8 by admin on October 9, 2009 - 12:38 am

Hi Sean, yes a buyer can have more than 1 membership as long as he uses Unique user names for each account. I kind of have a feeling of what you are trying to do but I am not sure the way you want to do it is the best way. If you can explain a little bit more on exactly what you want to achieve then I can perhaps give you some ideas.

Are you able to chat on MSN, YAHOO or gmail now?

  • #10 by Shane on October 12, 2009 - 12:00 pm

I need to create a free membership that’s free, and require opting in to my list to become a member, so, I need to integrate with aMember…can this do that?

  • #11 by Shane on October 12, 2009 - 12:03 pm

OOps! Meant to say AWeber there…:)

  • #12 by admin on October 12, 2009 - 8:28 pm

Hi Shane, I can make it so when someone registers for a free account they automatically get signed up to your specified “AWeber List”. For the paid members you can already do this when using with the WP eStore plugin. Please let me know if this will help.

  • #13 by Shane on October 13, 2009 - 1:17 pm

I purchased the eMember plugin, I’m not sure if you’re saying I can integrate with aweber with eMember alone or if I need to purchase eStore as well.

If I can with eMember alone, what do I need to do?

Email me if need be please.

    Thanks

  • #14 by Shane on October 13, 2009 - 1:28 pm

Also, my aim is to allow subscribers to my list to be able not only to view the protected content, but also submit posts. Any help/advise would be great.

  • #15 by admin on October 13, 2009 - 10:21 pm

Hi Shane, When I add the AWeber Integration to this Membership plugin I will make it so you can specify an AWeber list for each membership level and members gets signed up to that list when they register for that level. I will send you an email.

  • #16 by Adriel on October 16, 2009 - 1:06 am

Tried the demo site… looks great. Just what I’ve been looking for. I had the same question as Shane had above. I want AWeber subscribers to have access to protected content.

  • #18 by Don on October 18, 2009 - 12:45 am

Am confused as to how it tracks a sale. We use paypal. When a customer orders after being referred by an affiliate how does it track the sale from there. I know cookies track them through the site but is there a code we insert in the paypal code? Or does the plugin create the order button?

  • #19 by admin on October 18, 2009 - 3:22 am

Hi Don, do you mean the eMember or the Affiliate software? The eMember is a membership plugin for wordpress and it doesn’t track any sale.

  • #20 by Don on October 18, 2009 - 4:37 am

Oh i’m sorry I may have posted on the wrong page. Question is about the Affiliate plugin. Also its for multi-services.

  • #21 by admin on October 18, 2009 - 7:37 am

Hi Don, I will send you an email explaining this.

  • #22 by Adam on October 19, 2009 - 12:13 am

Can WordPress eMember offers sequential content delivery, that is, allows admin to graduate members from one level to the next?

e.g. all members who just joined will start at “Module 1″ and after 30 days they are automatically upgraded to “Module 2″. Any member who cancels and re-joins later will have to start from “Module 1″ again. In short, access of each module is dependent on the period of being a member.

This feature is to prevent someone from joining just one month, access all past content and cancel his/her membership before the next month is due. Or worst, ask for refund after accessing all archived content.

  • #23 by admin on October 19, 2009 - 5:17 am

Hi Adam, the WP eMember plugin doesn’t offer sequential content delivery yet but this is something I will definitely implement later on.

  • #24 by Shawn on October 19, 2009 - 6:47 pm

Any way to protect some content within a post, but not the entire post? Similar to Hidepost plugin, using shortcodes.

  • #25 by admin on October 20, 2009 - 4:08 am

Working one adding this. Just added the ability to protect the content of a post or page after the more tag.

  • #26 by Nick on October 20, 2009 - 7:58 am

    Hi Im nick
Im interested in this plugin. But first I wanna know something.
I have several categories containing lots of posts which are free to view for all visitors.

I added a new category “VIP”. Am I able to make payment subscription on this single category, I mean to read the posts in the VIP section you have to subscribe, can i do that with this plugin?? or is it only “posts” and “pages” as you state above.

    Hmm

    Greets
    Nick

Is it possible to control the duration of a membership? For example. One month, 6 months, 1 year? With recurring payments (I know this can be done using eStore and it can be integrated.) Just not sure if I can run a membership site where a membership will expire after a set duration if not paid again. Can we it using your plugins?

Does this plugin integrated with BB Press?

  • #29 by admin on October 20, 2009 - 10:34 pm

@Nick, Yes, you can protect your content by category too. So for example, you can create a category called “VIP” and protect it for say “VIP Membership Level” then only members who have a VIP Membership Level status can see any posts or pages under the “VIP” category. Let me know if this makes sense.

  • #30 by admin on October 20, 2009 - 10:39 pm

@chodhry, Yes, you can control the duration of a membership (eg. 6 months, 1 year). Please have a look at the screenshot provided at the following URL:

    http://tipsandtricks-hq.com/wordpress-membership/?p=13

There is a field called “Subscription Duration” where you can specify the duration of a particular membership level. You can set this to “No Expiry” and let the subscription payment handle it or set it to say for example 6 months and anyone who pays for this membership level will be able to access the content for 6 months and then they will have to pay again.

  • #31 by admin on October 20, 2009 - 10:40 pm

@ikailo, This membership plugin is not integrated with BBPress but this is something I look into implementing in the future.

    Hi again,
Yes it makes sence, thats cool.
Now…To subscribe VIP membership and have acces to VIP Section, does this plugin also include paypal subscribtion for the membership?

Or how is the user going to subscribe the VIP membership.

    Thanks again

I am looking for a plugin for a reoccurring transaction, like a monthly subscription which is charged over 12 months or a reoccurring contribution to a non-profit. Does your e-commerce plug-in do this or could you recommend? Thanks!

Hi Clint, Yes, you can use the WP eStore plugin to create any kind of subscription payment. The following URL has more details:

    http://www.tipsandtricks-hq.com/ecommerce/?p=400

  • #36 by admin on October 22, 2009 - 2:30 am

@Nick, You can use standard paypal “Subscription” or “Buy Now” buttons that you can get from PayPal to accept payment for membership. The other option is to use the WP eStore plugin to handle the membership payment side of things (eStore come pre-integrated with the eMember).

  • #37 by admin on October 22, 2009 - 2:39 am

@Greg, I haven’t looked into the integration of the eMember and the wp-ecommerce plugin. what kind of integration do you have in mind?

  • #38 by Jovon on October 28, 2009 - 4:54 am

Ok i use the ecommerce plugin to sell audio tracks on my site…. Is there a way i could sell memberships to the site and allow free downloads to files?

Ex: I sell each track for 9.95, but for a membership of 49.99 (no expiry), you can access each of these files free. If i just link to the mp3 in a hidden post, then the mp3 links can be shared. Any Ideas? If so, you just made another sale.

hi, once i update protected or unprotected content, will the membership software automatically email my free and paid members? Thanks,

  • #40 by admin on October 29, 2009 - 5:34 am

Hi Jovon, yes, you can put all the downloads on a page or post and protect it so only members can access this post or page. When they purchase a membership then can access this page and download the files.

  • #41 by admin on October 29, 2009 - 6:01 am

@Alex, No the membership plugin doesn’t send emails to your members when you update protected or unprotected content.

    Hi
Great service deserves recognition, and I’ve been totally blown away here. I had a problem getting eMember working due to a server issue my side, nothing to do with the product at all.
Ruhul tried to help me fix it (repeatedly) and when I couldn’t logged on and did it himself. It was a lot of effort for such a cheap product and I’m thoroughly impressed.
    Thanks a lot.

@Eric, I had a quick look at Get Response Autoresponder but didn’t see any documentation that describes how to implement a 3rd party shopping cart plugin. So I am not sure if they allow this at all. Also their site was really really slow when i was browsing around so I didn’t look around too much cause I tend to get annoyed with slow sites. Bottom line… if Get Response allows 3rd party shopping cart integration then I will definitely look into it.
